FBI Arrests Newnan Couple for Millions in Covid Fraud

Tampa, Florida – United States Attorney Gregory W. Kehoe announces the indictment and arrests of Earlisha Louis (44, Newnan, Georgia) and Somoza Louis (44, Newnan, Georgia) for one count of conspiracy to commit wire fraud and four counts of wire fraud related to COVID-19 relief funds. If convicted, each faces up to 30 years in federal prison on each count. Earlisha Louis is also charged with two counts of illegal monetary transactions. Each of those counts carry a maximum penalty of 3 years in federal prison. The indictment also notifies the pair that the United States intends to forfeit a residence and $1,705,553.80, which are alleged to be traceable to the proceeds of the offense.

Woman Shopping at Publix Robbed of Wallet While Shopping, Two Atlanta Men Arrested

On May 30th, 2025, at around 11:30 AM, a local woman was shopping at the Publix Grocery Store at 1111 Lower Fayetteville Rd in Newnan. By the end of her shopping trip she would notice that her wallet was missing from her purse and requested that Publix staff review surveillance video after reporting having had a strange interaction with at least one male while shopping.

Fugitive from Auburn Alabama Stabbing Located and Arrested in Coweta County

Just after 10 PM last night, Coweta County E911 received a BOLO from the Auburn Police Department in Alabama regarding a suspect vehicle and suspect believed to be traveling north on I-85 after a reported stabbing.

The BOLO was relayed to units of all local law enforcement agencies and a short time later a patrol deputy with the Coweta County Sheriff’s Office informed dispatch that he’d located the vehicle at the BP Gas Station on South Highway 29 / Exit 41. As the deputy waited for additional units to make it to the area, the suspect vehicle exited the BP parking lot taking a left onto South Hwy 29 at a very low speed. The suspect then took a right onto East Highway 16 and began heading east, again at a very low rate of speed.

Just after midnight on May 7th, 2025, a deputy with the Coweta County Sheriff’s Office was traveling north on Interstate 85 near the 46 mile marker when they observed a white Lexus change lanes before accelerating to a speed in excess of 100 miles per hour at which time the deputy activated their lights and attempted to stop the vehicle.
