Veitch Reaches Plea Deal in Court Cases

On May 7th, 2025, Richard Jason Veitch entered an Alford Plea in case SUR2024000326. The Plea saw him plead guilty to a single felony count of Making a False Statement.
Six Arrested in Wake of Snowfinch Lane Shooting

Just before 9 PM on April 25th, 2025, E911 received a call from a residence on Snowfinch Lane in Newnan reporting that a male victim had been shot.
Units with both the Newnan Police Department, as well as nearby units with the Coweta County Sheriff’s Office quickly responded to the scene. Dispatch had been able to confirm with the caller that there were numerous people located within the residence and at least one was armed. When units arrived they came in contact with a male outside of the house who was detained. Units then secured the house, calling all the individuals out of the house where they were then detained.
Charges Dropped Against Fulford, Investigation On-going

On Tuesday, April 29th, 2025, Investigators with the Criminal Investigation Unit were made aware of new information provided to the Coweta County District Attorney’s Office. This new information resulted in the District Attorney’s Office’s decision not to proceed with the prosecution of Ms. Fulford. Investigators then contacted the Magistrate Judge who signed the warrants and requested that the warrants be recalled.
New Arrest in Ongoing Investigation Into December Incident

Booking records from the Coweta County Jail show that members of the Coweta County Sheriff’s Office Crime Suppression Unit executed an arrest warrant off Beavers Rd in Grantville on the afternoon of Monday, April 21st, that resulted in the arrest of 17 yr old William Nathan Branson.
Records show that in addition to charges stemming from a December 2024 incident, Branson was charged with numerous drug related charges for drugs located during the warrant service.
East Coweta Student Arrested After Fight, Found with Razor

Around 9:15 AM on April 15th, a Deputy with the Coweta County Sheriff’s Office responded to East Coweta High School to serve an outstanding warrant for Sincere Isaiah Perez for misdemeanor Battery stemming from an April 1st fight at the school in which he was involved.
Noise Complaint Turns Violent in East Newnan

According to the case report for the incident, at some point during the night Thacker arrived at the residence off East Cole St where the victim was located in the shed. After arriving Thacker reportedly began opening and closing his vehicle door, moving items, throwing things around and generally causing a loud disturbance. The victim stated that after hours of this going on it had affected his ability to sleep and around 5 AM he decided to exit the shed and talk to Thacker about the noise.
Northgate High School Student Arrested with Firearm on Campus

According to the narrative, written by Cpl. Cowart with the Coweta County Sheriff’s Office, he was assigned to Northgate High School on March 31st and at approximately 2:55 PM was contacted by Sgt. J. Funderburk ( NGHS’s SRO ) requesting his immediate response to the student parking lot “due to a potential armed student on the premises.” Cpl. Cowart continues that “Sgt. Funderburk relayed information from Assistant Principal Bryan Hicks, who reported that another student had informed him that Malik Dixon was carrying a handgun inside the school.”
17 Year Old Suspect Arrested for Stealing Vehicle

Just after 7:45 PM on Friday, April 11th, E911 received a call from a resident off Briarwood Court stating that three black males had just stolen their black F-150 from their yard and driven off in the direction of Shenandoah Blvd. Due to the location of the incident units with both the Coweta County Sheriff’s Office as well as the Newnan Police Department were notified of the theft and several units were dispatched to the scene. Dispatch was able to get the tag information from the victim and get the information out to the units quickly.
