Suspect Takes CCSO on Pursuit Through Downtown Newnan

On July 8, 2025, a suspect led the Coweta County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) on a high-speed pursuit through downtown Newnan, Georgia. The chase began when deputies attempted to stop a vehicle for a traffic violation, but the driver refused to comply and fled. The pursuit moved through several streets, with the suspect driving recklessly, endangering public safety. It ended when the suspect’s vehicle crashed near the intersection of East Broad Street and Perry Street. The suspect attempted to flee on foot but was quickly apprehended by deputies. No injuries were reported, and the suspect faces multiple charges, including fleeing and attempting to elude, reckless driving, and other traffic-related offenses.
Community Members Add Voice to Peaceful Protest on Crowded Square

Members of the local community took part Saturday in part of national day of planned protest under the banner of ” No King “.
According to casual counts over 150 community members representing all ages and demographics joined together with signs and banners on the Court Square to lend their voice to their common cause in denouncing President Trump and the current immigration actions being preformed by ICE agents across the nation.
