\\ CSA Suspect Gets 25 Years In Prison, Life On Probation In Plea
On October 19th, Brallan Martinez, 25, entered a negotiated guilty plea (NGP) on 5 of 7 counts for which he was originally indicted on November of 2025. For the remaining counts Martinez was sentenced to serve 25 years in prison and once he's released he'll spend the rest of his life on probation.
Investigation
In early November 2024, CCSO investigators were made aware of a possible sexual offense involving Brallan Martinez, then 23, and a female under the age of 16, having occurred at his residence off Derring Circle in Newnan. The investigation would find evidence of multiple sexual encounters between Martinez and the victim, whom he would entice to his residence, during a period that spanned from about August 27th to November 5th.
Arrest and Booking
After several weeks the investigation lead to arrest warrants being sworn out on November 25th, 2024. The next day on November 26th members of the Coweta County Sheriff's Office served those arrest warrants, as well as search warrants, at the Derring Circle residence where Martinez was arrested and transported to the Coweta County Jail. Booking records show he was booked in the early morning hours of November 27th on the following charges.
- Child Molestation (F)
- Sodomy (F)
- Child Sexual Exploitation (F)
Court records indicate that prior to his indictment, Martinez had a bail set at $110,000 with a slew of specific restrictions which included no contact with victim, being barred from entering Fulton County ( the county of residence of the victim ), and a requirement to be outfitted with an electronic tracking device.
Court proceedings show that on April 4th, 2025, seemingly before being appointed a public defender, Martinez sent a hand written "pro se" petition for a reduction in the bond, requesting a hearing. On July 16th, 2025 the proceedings show that Martinez sent an additional letter asking if, and when, he would be getting a hearing on that request. By September 30th, the motion was again submitted requesting a bond reduction however by this time Martinez had been assigned Ricardo Samper, a experienced public defender. In response a hearing was set on the bond motion for October 9th. Having heard the request in person, the presiding Judge denied the motion to reduce the bail. As a result, Martinez was never able to secure a bond and has remained in custody from the time of his initial arrest.
