“My Bad, ” he stated as he exited the women’s restroom.
On September 27th, 2025, units with the Newnan Police Department were dispatched to Hobby Lobby located at 997 Bullsboro Dr. regarding reports of a suspicious subject.
When they arrived on scene an Officer met with the manager of the store while another made contact with the suspect Terry Taquan Lamar Keitt who had made it to his white Chevy Malibu in the parking lot and began taking off. The Officer was able to get Keitt to stop on the access road behind Panda Express.
According to the Hobby Lobby manager, he had been advised by an employee that there was a male in the women’s restroom and that he had his phone peeking through a stall at a female. He further advised that he called out to the male in the restroom stall several times but Keitt had failed to respond. The employees waited outside the restroom and observed Keitt exiting the restroom. As he exited Keitt reportedly said ” My Bad.” The manager advised he wanted Keitt trespassed from the location.
The female victim that was in the adjacent stall advised Officers that she’d gone into the restroom and just as she’d sat down she noticed a phone sticking halfway into her stall with the camera portion visible. She immediately left the stall and contacted management regarding the incident.
Meanwhile the second Officer that had detained Keitt in the parking lot advised that while speaking with Keitt he appeared nervous and was shaking while being questioned regarding the incident. Keitt advised the Officer that he had accidentally gone into the wrong restroom and after realizing it he’d left and apologized to the manager. Keitt was asked by the Officer to allow him to view his phone, which he agreed to reluctantly. The Officer was unable to locate any photos or video of the victim inside the store.
Keitt matches description from previous incident at RaceTrac
According to the Officer’s narrative in the case report, Keitt matched the description of a suspect wanted for a prior incident down the street at the RaceTrac on Newnan Crossing Blvd East just an hour before this incident.
In that incident a black male wearing a gray tank top, black pants or shorts, and a black durag followed a woman into the restroom. The male then left the scene in a white car which matched with the vehicle being driven by Keitt. According to the report, Keitt was wearing a gray tank and black sweatpants at the time he was stopped in his white Chevy Malibu.
Keitt was issued a criminal trespass warning for the Hobby Lobby. The report also notes that a criminal history search on Keitt showed multiple prior convictions of Peeping Tom…
Terry Taquan Lamar Keitt Arrested
Terry Taquan Lamar Keitt, 30, of Peachtree City, was arrested by Officers with the Newnan Police Department and booked into the Coweta County Jail on September 27th, 2025 for the following charge.
- Peeping Tom ( F )
As of October 8th, 2025, Keitt remains in the Coweta County Jail without bond.
It’s of note that Keitt is currently serving nearly 9 years of probation from a 2024 plea deal resulting from a Peeping Spree that occurred in 2017.
The Spalding County Sheriff’s Office confirms they currently have an active warrant out for Keitt for Probation Violation.
The 2017 Spalding County Peeping Spree
In September of 2018, a Spalding County Grand Jury returned a True Bill of Indictment against Keitt for 5 felony counts of Peeping Tom.
Each count represented a separate incident in a spree of incidents carried out by Keitt across the city of Griffin over a 3 month period in 2017.
- Count 4 alleged that on February 17th, 2017, Keitt entered the Lowe’s at 1520 Hwy 16 W., in Griffin, where he entered the women’s restroom and peeped throug the bathroom stall doors and spied upon the occupant, invading their privacy.
- Count 2 alleged that on March 24th, 2017, Keitt entered the Food Depot at 1201 W. Taylor St., in Griffin, where he entered the women’s restroom and peeped throug the bathroom stall doors and spied upon the occupant, invading their privacy.
- Count 1 alleged that on March 25th, 2017, Keitt entered the Kroger at 1524 Hwy 16 W, in Griffin, where he entered the women’s restroom and peeped throug the bathroom stall doors and spied upon the occupant, invading their privacy.
- Count 5 alleged that on April 5th, 2017, Keitt entered the Kroger at 1524 Hwy 16 W, in Griffin, where he entered the women’s restroom and peeped throug the bathroom stall doors and spied upon the occupant, invading their privacy.
- Count 3 alleged that on April 6th, 2017, Keitt entered the Marshall’s at 1557 N. Expressway, in Griffin, where he entered the women’s restroom and peeped throug the bathroom stall doors and spied upon the occupant, invading their privacy.
The Covid Effect
Just as the case was preparing to head to Trial, the Judicial machine ground to a long and complete halt.
In late June of 2019 the wheels of justice took their leave and it wasn’t until October of 2023 that they’d restart with the first hearing in the case post-covid.
The Plea Deal
Months later, in January of 2024, the case came to a quick resolution when Keitt accepted a negotiated plea deal that resulted in the following sentence.
- He plead guilty to all 6 charges and received the following:
- On Counts 3 to 5 he received 5 years probation to be served concurrently with Count 1, effectively nullifying the sentence on these counts.
- On Count 2 he received 5 years probation to be served consecutively with Count 1.
- On Count 1 he received 5 years with 12 months and 1 day to serve in county jail, followed by 3 years, 11 months, and 29 days on probation.
- He received credit for 126 days he spent in jail prior to trial.
- Count 1 and Count 2 totaled 10 years, with 12 months and 1 day in Jail and the remained on probation. Adjusting for the time credited, his release date from jail and onto probation was mid August, 2024.
I haven’t been able to confirm his actual release date, however Fayette County Booking records show that on August 29th, 2024, around the time of what should have been his adjusted release date from county jail, he was booked into the jail on an arrest warrant for probation violation.
A Consent Order modifying his probation appears in the proceedings of the original case in Spalding County. According to the Order, Keitt had violated a special condition of his probation by failing to complete a Psychosexual Evaluation and follow any recommended treatment.
In response the State wanted Keitt to serve and additional 60 days in the Spalding County jail after which he was expected to return to being a faithful probationer.
A hearing was set on the Consent Order for October 10th, 2024. The case proceedings fail to provide any further entries regarding the hearing or it’s results. Obviously at some point after his August 29th, 2024 arrest he was released from the Spalding County jail, I’ve been unable to confirm if that was the expected 60 days later or an earlier date.
What’s Next
As I stated above, the Spalding County Sheriff’s Office has confirmed an active warrant for Keitt for violation of probation. It’s unclear if this warrant pre-dates his Coweta County arrest, or if the violation is the result of the arrest. Either way he has a detainer and before being released from the Coweta County Jail, Spalding County has the right to take custody of Keitt on their warrant.
Technically, by catching a new felony charge and violating his probation, the Spalding County Court could choose to send him to prison for what remains of his 10 year total sentence, with any sentence in the Coweta County case adding time to it.
