May 1st Fight
According to the NPD case report on May 1st, 2025 around 10 AM, SRO’s assigned to Newnan High School were notified over the school radio that the school staff had a ” situation in the 100 hallway. ” When they arrived to the location they observed the victim, an unidentified black female who was extremely frantic and upset. An officer noted portions of the victims hair on the floor and that she had broken nails and a swollen hand. She stated to officers that she was jumped in the stairs and hadn’t done anything wrong, they just jumped her.
SRO’s then went to the front office where the other students involved in the fight had been taken. The two were identified as Patrice Shantal Carter, 18 and Natalie Denise Daniel, 17.
Along with school administrators, the SRO’s reviewed school security footage of the fight. They observed the victim walking through the stair well and going into the 100 hallway when she was attacked from behind by Carter. As the fight spilled further into the hallway another student, identified as Daniel joined, physically joined in the fight. Another juvenile suspect, whose information is withheld due to their age, also joined the fight. Both Daniel and the unidentified juvenile were observed kicking and punching the victim while she was being held down on the ground by Carter.

Weapon Located During Arrest
Both Carter and Daniel were arrested at that time and both were searched incident to arrest by a female officer, with nothing being found on their persons. They were handcuffed and prepared for transport to the Coweta County Jail.
Before being taken to the patrol vehicle for transport, the female officer conducted a search of Carter’s purse when it was found that Carter was in possession of a 3.5″ folding knife within her purse that she’d been in control of while inside the school. The knife was taken into evidence and the both Carter and Daniel were transported to the Coweta County Jail for booking.
Suspects Arrested
According to the report, a Juvenile complaint was completed on the 3rd person involved in the fight and turned into the Juvenile Center for processing.

Patrice Shantal Carter, 18, of Newnan was arrested and booked into the Coweta County Jail for the following charge(s).

Booking records show that Carter was released from custody on May 2nd, 2025.
